About Us

“Almost all Academies are the same”. This is the criticism you will often hear leveled against the ‘Academies’ culture in Kenya. There is some truth in the statement. Apart from names, uniforms and physical structures, most academies are the same. For parents looking for a different schooling experience for their child, we are happy to introduce INTASPORDIASM.

INTASPORDIASM herein also referred to as The Academy is a CBC, Co-ed Day & Boarding Early Years (Playgroup, PP1 – Grade 3) and Middle School (Grade 4-6) situated at Mang’u, Exit 16 along the Thika Superhighway. INTASPORDIASM is also the first/only CBC Sports, Media and Arts Academy in Kenya.

It makes a difference where and when we grow up. Gladwell, 2008: 20

We are first and foremost a CBC Private School delivering on the National CBC primary school program. But more significantly, and what makes us unique is that we are the first/only private primary school offering to your child options in Competency-Based Categories of Sports, Media & Technology and Arts & Design in Kenya. A lot has been said about the need to develop talents early. Very little has been done to provide the institutional environment to allow our children to do exactly this.

Until now.

The greatest gift you can give your child:

The most misguided question adults ask kids in the 21st  Century is: "What do you want to be when you grow up?". Stop asking it! No-one knows how the world will look like in 5 years let alone 20 years.  What our kids need is a curious, creative and flexible mind. Not a make belief destination. It’s not enough to give the best "things" to your children. The greatest gift you can ever give them is  a school that allows them curiosity, exploration and flexibility. These are the fundamentals of our ethos at Intaspordiasm.

INTASPORDIASM has come to fill this gap. We have established The Academy to guarantee you that never again as a parent will you realise that your child has certain abilities in the area of sports, media & technology and Arts & design but wonder where to take them. We have you sorted!

Leaders in Competency Based Learning

“excellence at performing a complex task requires a critical minimum level of practice…in fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true expertise, ten thousand hours”. Gladwell 2008:43-44

As the debate on Competency-Based learning (CBL) rages on and efforts to deliver it in a Competency-Based Curriculum are experimented with, most modern parents recognise the need to develop competencies in their children and want them to get the best exposure and opportunity to develop all possibilities while young. This is not an idle or overstated desire. Science and experience have proved that children stand a better chance of excelling in their chosen fields when they start early. This is due in part to the other scientific finding which surfaces repeatedly and emphatically that:

Which way for the modern child?

A child can learn literacy and numeracy anywhere - we learnt it in dilapidated public schools and I dare say even from some rather hostile and highly accented teachers. But to learn who they are and their place in a modern unpredictable world, modern children growing in the modern world need a real special place, infused with creativity, exploration and technology. I have sought to make Intaspordiasm that place.

For a long time, the modern forward-looking urban parent has been yearning for a school that would give their child a head-start on the 10,000 hours in the areas of sport, media & technology and arts & design. Most Primary schools lack the space, the facilities and the expertise to do so. They thus offer token “wholistic” education that really never addresses the needs of the parents of seeing their children start early and get a headstart even on their other non-academic pursuits especially, sports, media & technology and arts & design. Most parents are forced to look for “trainers” and “academies” outside the child’s school to meet this need.

INTASPORDIASM comes in to fill this gap. In our sprawling Mang’u campus, we have set up the infrastructure and programs not just to cover the educational curriculum, but also help your child to make significant progress in advancing their abilities and skills in Sports, Media & Technology and Arts & Design to professional levels. The primary goal of introducing these Competency Based Categories is to give your child the requisite foundational training to pursue these interests in life to the furthest possible level.

At INTASPORDIASM your child’s journey towards covering the 10,000 hours required to excel in the Competency Based Categories of sports, media & technology and arts and design has started.

Welcome!

Overwriting the sameness syndrome:

All “Academys” look the same and they all seek to produce children who look the same and can do similar things, i.e. read and write. For your child to be different, he must be in a school that looks different and offers different. Intaspordiasm looks like no other school you know.
